The earth grows me

Mantras can be a powerful tool to filter out distractions and focus your attention on a subject. Combined with walking meditation, you can experience nature directly at a very deep level.

Walking meditation? Take a short walk through the woods, on a beach, at a park, in your backyard. Use your breathe to focus on the rhythm of your walk and every detail of nature surrounding you. Let your thoughts go and quietly voice your mantra. Limited in space? You can do this in a small backward or courtyard by slowly repeating your route many times. Try this daily. The goal is to put yourself in ‘receive mode’ and let the messages of nature come to you passively.

“I grow the earth, the earth grows me”

“I grow the earth, the earth grows me”

“I grow the earth, the earth grows me”

“I grow the earth, the earth grows me”…….

The first part is a breathe in, the second part is a breathe out. Synch your breathe, steps and mantra into a slow relaxing stroll. When you get it right, time will be suspended and the boundary between you and nature will disappear.
